Wei Jingsheng Meets with the Vietnam Democracy Leaders in Los Angeles
On June 8, 2021, the Vietnam democracy leaders hosted a banquet for Mr. Wei Jingsheng and Ms. Huang Ciping, the Executive Director of the Wei Jingsheng Foundation. It was followed by Mr. Wei giving a speech at the office of the Vietnamese Community of Southern California, to exchange views and updates about China and the international situation.
Wei Jingsheng and the leaders of the Vietnamese community at the meeting exchanged and agreed on these thoughts:
1) The anti-communist sentiment in American society is on the rise. Anyone in power will release all kinds of pressure on the Communist Party. Moreover, the Biden administration's strategy of uniting allies will put greater pressure on the Communist Party.
2) The Xi Jinping regime is in distress at home and abroad and may collapse at any time. Various opposition groups should interact and cooperate with each other, to put greater pressure on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and welcome a new situation of democracy after the CCP collapses.
3) The CCP is the overall backbone of all authoritarian regimes. If the CCP does not collapse, it will be difficult to overcome smaller dictators. Just as the collapse of the Soviet Union drove the democratization of Eastern European countries, it is the common task of the democrats of Asian countries to jointly push for the collapse of the CCP and the democratization of all Asian countries.
Everyone agrees that at this turning point of historical change, all countries and nations should work together and cooperate with each other to finally achieve a satisfactory result.
